The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is a public research university located in Fairbanks, Alaska, United States. It was founded in 1917 as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines, and it became a university in 1975.
UAF is the flagship campus of the University of Alaska system and is a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant institution. It offers more than 170 degree and certificate programs in fields such as engineering, natural resources, business, education, social sciences, and arts and humanities.
