North Vermont University (NVU) is a public university located in Johnson, Vermont. The university is part of the NVU system that has two main campuses located in Lyndon and Johnson.

North Vermont University was founded in 2018 when two previously independent institutions, Johnson State College and Lyndon State College, merged to form one comprehensive university system. This merger has allowed NVU to offer a wider range of programs and resources to its students, as well as foster a more collaborative and integrated campus community.

NVU offers over 50 undergraduate and graduate programs across a variety of disciplines including business, education, environmental science, liberal arts, and more.

The university has a strong commitment to experiential learning, which allows students to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field of study through internships, research projects, and other opportunities.

The North Vermont University’s campus, located in the town of Johnson, offers a intimate campus setting with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. The campus features a range of unique academic programs, including a nationally recognized sustainable agriculture program, and offers students access to over 300 acres of working farmland and a farm-to-table dining program.

North Vermont University is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, the Northern Vermont University Institute for Applied Agriculture and Food Systems, and more. These centers offer students and faculty opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research and innovative projects.
