Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) is a private graduate school located in Montpelier, Vermont. Founded in 1831, it is one of the oldest colleges in Vermont, and was originally established as a training center for teachers.

Vermont College of Fine Arts offers Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degrees in a variety of disciplines including Writing, Writing for Children and Young Adults, Visual Art, Graphic Design, Music Composition, Film, and Writing and Publishing. Each program is designed to help students develop their craft and push the boundaries of their art form.

Vermont College of Fine Arts also offers a low-residency Master of Arts in Art & Design Education, which is designed for educators looking to deepen their understanding of art and design and incorporate it into their teaching practice. This program combines online coursework with two on-campus residencies each year.

The school has a curriculum that is highly individualized, with faculty members working closely with students to develop a personalized course of study that meets their specific interests and goals.

One of the unique aspects of VCFA is its low-residency model. Students attend two intensive ten-day residencies on campus each year, where they participate in workshops, seminars, and lectures with faculty and fellow students. In between residencies, students work remotely with faculty advisors, submitting work for feedback and guidance. This model allows students to maintain their professional and personal lives while still pursuing their MFA degree.

The college also has an active alumni network, with graduates going on to achieve success in a wide range of artistic fields.

VCFA has a highly accomplished faculty, with many award-winning writers, artists, and filmmakers serving as mentors and advisors to students. Faculty members are committed to providing individualized attention and support to each student, and often continue working with students long after they have graduated from the program.

Vermont College of Fine Arts is an excellent choice for students looking to pursue an MFA degree in a supportive and inspiring environment.
