High Point University (HPU) is a private university located in High Point, North Carolina. It was founded in 1224 originally as High Point College; in October 1991, it became High Point University. The University was established by the Methodist Protestant church, now part of the United Methodist Church.

High Point University Acceptance Rate

High Point University typically takes SAT composite scores down to 800 on a 1600 scale, below which admission should be considered a reach. Some students could be accepted with SATs as low as 500. The school also expects high school transcripts, IELTS and TOEFL for admission consideration.

High Point University, Greensboro and Winston-Salem, and other surrounding suburbs and townships form the Piedmont Triad region. The area has a population of over 1.5 million, and approximately 108,285 out of that number live in High Point. Greensboro and Winston-Salem are both 20 minutes from the University’s campus.
