Bismarck State College (BSC) is a 4-year public community college located in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Established in 1939, it was previously known as Bismarck Junior College and later became a four-year institution in 1984 and is now one of the top institutions in the state.

Bismarck State College offers over 50 programs of study, including associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and certificates, in various fields such as business, healthcare, education, energy, engineering, and technology, Automotive Technology, Biology,Coaching (Athletic), Communication & Humanities College.

BSC is widely known for its programs in energy education and has strong partnerships with the energy industry in North Dakota and is one of the few colleges in the nation to offer a bachelor’s degree in energy management.

Bismarck State College has an aims to provide affordable, accessible, high-quality education with real-life training and hands-on experience that prepares its students for career success in the outside world, lifelong learning. The school empowers the students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to achieve their goals and contribute to the economic, social vitality of their communities.

BSC’s campus is situated on a hill overlooking the Missouri river and is surrounded by a natural landscape of prairie grasslands and rolling hills, hence providing a peaceful and serene environment for students to study and learn.

The campus features modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology with several number of academic buildings, student residence halls, a student union, and athletic facilities and more.

The college also has a popular athletics program, with men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, golf, and baseball teams.

Bismarck State College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Dakota University System.
