Bismarck State College (BSC) is a 4-year public community college located in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Established in 1939, it was previously known as Bismarck Junior College and later became a four-year institution in 1984 and is now one of the top institutions in the state.
Bismarck State College offers over 50 programs of study, including associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and certificates, in various fields such as business, healthcare, education, energy, engineering, and technology, Automotive Technology, Biology,Coaching (Athletic), Communication & Humanities College.
BSC is widely known for its programs in energy education and has strong partnerships with the energy industry in North Dakota and is one of the few colleges in the nation to offer a bachelor’s degree in energy management.
Bismarck State College has an aims to provide affordable, accessible, high-quality education with real-life training and hands-on experience that prepares its students for career success in the outside world, lifelong learning. The college also has a popular athletics program, with men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, golf, and baseball teams.
Bismarck State College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Dakota University System.
